Press release : The french livestock and meat sector publishes its first sustainability report
Since 2017 the Livestock and Meat sector has committed to an approach, entitled “Pact for Societal Commitment”, achieving a level 3 (out of a possible 4) AFNOR labeling “CSR commitment confirmed” (advanced level for Company Societal Responsability) and is now publishing its first sustainability report.
This comprehensive document reports on the commitments and the initial results of an increasingly sustainable French meat production. Concrete and structured, it lists the main issues identified as a result of long discussions with public authorities, the scientific world, environmental protection NGOs and animal welfare NGOs. It is also based on precise and quantifiable indicators which allow to measure the impact of the actions undertaken and their evolution over time.
This report is a fundamental element of an open dialogue with civil society based on “Eating Better’’ and of the collective communication campaign launched by INTERBEV at the beginning of 2019: “LOVE MEAT, EAT IT BETTER” endorsed “Naturally Flexitarian”.
